Highland Excursions is thrilled to announce a Ski mountaineering expedition to Mount Mahadev (13,012 ft. /3,966 meters). Being a pioneer of Ski mountaineering since 1980’s in Kashmir valley and having highly trained plus experienced guides puts us in unique position to offer high altitude Ski Mountaineering expeditions. We are thus pleased to offer Ski Mountaineering Mt. Mahadev (3966M) Expedition 2022. We created this program as a perfect opportunity for backcountry skiers/riders looking to gain the skills that will enable them to ski/ride higher and/or more technical mountains. This program is for the backcountry skier/rider who wants to become a “Ski Mountaineer”, and the ski mountaineer looking to progress to high altitude peaks. We have chosen Mount Mahadev (13,012 ft./3,966 meters) as an ideal place to bring your backcountry skiing/riding to the next level. It is the pinnacle peak of Zabarwan range. Given its prominent presence and highest point of Srinagar city, it grabs the attention of everyone. It radiates its beauty far and wide. The summit of Mt Mahadev provides breathtaking views of Srinagar city, Dachigam National Park, Mount Nun Kun, Mount Kolahoi, Mount Harmukh, Sunset peak, Brahamsaki and Tattakutti. While it is possible to ski tour the entire route if conditions permit, we will focus on teaching you technical skills that you might not have needed in the backcountry settings you’ve previously experienced. Incorporating these elements and skills with your backcountry skiing experience is a significant step in your progression from “backcountry skier” to “ski mountaineer.” The route offers splendid view of the scenic beauty which are highly worthy of being photographed and worth cherishing. One can witness the magnificent view comprising of snowcapped mountain peaks, waterfalls with crystal clear water and lush greenery. The famous high altitude Tarsar and Marsar lakes lie on the eastern side of this mountain. During our acclimatization at Lidwas basecamp, we will be preparing everyone on the team with the skills and knowledge needed not just for these ranges but also for almost most of the Himalayan ranges. The pristine mountain range of Pir Panjal of the greater Himalayas have long captured the imaginations of people of the world over and to be amongst the few who are able to experience them on skis is very special and a proud achievement. While trekking, climbing, and skiing in the Pir Panjal, it becomes apparent that it’s not only the heights to which the giants around you soar that make this place so special, it’s the greater picture of the range, including the history, the weather, the people, the biodiversity, and the adventurous people who visit. While skiing with Highland Excursions in Kashmir, we utilize the same high-level logistics as those used on our major climbing expeditions. With our strong and experienced support staff, cook staff, and guides, top-of-the-line equipment and the best food in the business. You are able to focus your energy on yourself and your surroundings, we carefully arrange our logistics and itinerary, maximizing acclimatization.
