Highland Excursions is thrilled to introduce this program for exploring-travellers. We will explore, hike, trek and camp on this program. We explore the uniqueness of Gujjar’s/Tribals on our cultural village walk in the classical traditional settlements of Gujjar village on the banks Sind River. The people of this village still maintain their centuries old traditions and take proud in it. They live in Gujjar Dhoka’s made of wooden logs, mud and stones. The people speak different than Kashmiri, wear different and eat different. As a nomadic tribe they spread over a large part starting from Pir Panjal Range to Hindukush to Ladakh located in Himalayan mountains of South Asia
This program is mainly focused on cultural interaction and exploring Mammar Village and then after the ancient ruins of Naranag temple complex. Naranag is a place blessed with such beauty that it belongs in your dreams. Tucked cosily in the mountains and encircled by dense forests, it is the kind of place that photographers are always on the lookout for. The Naranag Temple built in the 8th century, much of which lies in ruins today but is great for sightseeing. The village here serves as a base camp to Mount Harmukh, Gangabal & Satsar. Coming across this sight will relieve you from all your inner worries and stress.
Finally, we come back in the lap of Zabarwan Mountain range to the “Jewel in the crown of Kashmir” Dal Lake and ride Shikara there. Also, to mention our soul refreshening visit to Mughal Gardens and adjacent areas.
