You will look at the scenery that’s so breathtakingly stunning and unlike any mountainous terrain that you have ever seen before – changing from lush green farmland, dense forest, and glistening blue fast-flowing rivers to the barren land and glacial pools the higher you climb – that you realize it was a good decision. Here you are, conquering Everest Base Camp like a warrior. When you'll reach the top of the final climb, stumbling over loose rocks and onto a canvas of white, all you will do is sit and admire what had become one of your greatest achievements. The Everest Base Camp Trek, is one of the most famous Trek in Nepal. The mysteriously fantastic mountain peaks and the beauty on the hills is what dazzles the adventure enthusiast on the trail. As most of the places to this spot go through ridges and trails, but you would have ample space to rest and have meal on your way. And one of the best things about this place is that you don’t have to worry about being lost, as you can ask anybody for the next village. The people here are very friendly and offer help and support even to strangers. The people who live here are mostly shepherds and understand English, some even speak it fluently.

  1. Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu [1350m/4430ft]

    • Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal. Upon completing immigration formalities and collecting your luggage’s in the airport, kindly proceed to the exit of the arrival hall.
    • Take a local taxi/cab services and report at the hotel.
    • Meet your Trek Leader and a pre-trek briefing will be given around 4.30pm.
    • This evening we get familiar with our surroundings by taking a walk down the street and head out for dinner, this is a great opportunity to get acquainted with your fellow group members.

  2. Day 2 Free day in Kathmandu

    • Preparation Day
    • Local sightseeing, explore Kathmandu's bustling streets and significant landmarks (optional)
    • Your leader will brief you on flight arrangements locally for the next day.
    • Overnight stay at hotel.

  3. Day 3 Fly Lukla (2800m/9186ft)- Trek to Phakding (2610m/8563ft) (3-4hrs)

    • We have an early start with a short flight to STOL airstrip at Lukla. The Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla was established by Sir Edmund Hillary to help access the Everest region and the Sherpa people. It is a picturesque flight with marvelous views of the Eastern Himalaya.
    • Once at Lukla we are immediately presented with views of huge peaks surrounding the village, offering a glimpse of what is to come.
    • Meet our representatives at Lukla and then start the trek to Phakding.
    • As this will be our first day of the E.B.C trek we enjoy it to fullest and thus we prepare for the trail that awaits us ahead.
    • Overnight stay at Lodge.

  4. Day 4 Phakding - Namche Bazaar (3440m/11286ft) (6-7hrs) | A Historic Trading Hub

    • Post Breakfast get ready for the trek to Namche Bazaar.
    • The route is surrounded by huge green mountain ranges and the suspension bridges where the Dudh Koshi river and Bhote Koshi river flows.
    • We follow the river course to the confluence of the Dudh Kosi and the Bhote Kosi and cross a spectacular high bridge before commencing our ascent to the village of Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa "capital" of Nepal. It is a tough climb as the trail passes through forest of pine to a vantage point that provides our first view of Mt Everest.
    • Once you get your permits of Sagarmatha National Park permits at Jorsalle ascend on a steep trail before arriving at Namche Bazar.
    • Namche is situated on the slope of an arch-shaped mountain and is the historic trading centre of Kumbhu region.
    • Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar at lodge. 

  5. Day 5 Acclitamization at Namche Bazaar (3440m/11286ft)

    • Wake up to the scenic views of mountains around you and enjoy the scrumptious breakfast.
    • This day will be for acclimatization for you to enjoy the culture of Nepal.
    • Namche Bazaar has become a busy tourist hub where climbers and trekkers can do last minute shopping for essentials.
    • One of the best ways to do this is to take strenuous walk up to a high altitude then come back down to sleep – so there’s an optional walk above the Bhote Khola River Valley towards Thami (3810m).
    • One can also explore the Coffee shops, Bars, Restaurants and a colourful market.
    • One can do a short hike to Namche Museum, situated a little above Namche Bazaar.
    • The national park headquarters are home to interesting displays about Sherpa lifestyle and culture, and the local flora and fauna. Namche gained its importance during the period when Tibetan salt was traded for the lowland grains of Nepal. Rugs, clothing, salt and dried meat still all do a roaring trade in the village centre, so haggle for any extra supplies you might need.

  6. Day 6 Namche - Pangboche (3930m/12893ft) via Thyanboche (6-7hrs)

     

    • The walk to Pangboche is one of the most spectacular trekking days in Nepal. The trail starts with a gradual descent through rhododendron and pine forests.
    • We start our climb through pine forests to the top of a long ridge which flows from the summit of Kantega. If we are lucky, we may come across local wildlife including the Himalayan Thar, Musked Deer and the vibrant Danphe Pheasant, the national bird of Nepal.
    • A traditional gateway and chorten welcomes us to the village of Thyangboche. From the steps of the Monastery we will be rewarded to a clear view of Everest between Nuptse and Lhotse as well as Peak 38, Shartse and Ama Dablam. 
    • Thyangboche is considered the spiritual heart of the Khumbu Valley and the monastery was re-built with the help of Sir Edmund Hillary after being decimated by a fire in 1989.
    • We visit Thyanboche monastery the  largest monastery of the Khumbu valley.
    • We continue down hill to our final push to Pangboche.
    • Overnight at Pangboche in Lodge.
     

  7. Day 7 Pangboche - Dingboche (4360m/14304ft) (3-4hrs)

     

    • We follow the Imja Khola to stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, Kantega, Thamserku, Ama Dablam and Nuptse as we descend into the valley and cross the suspension bridge. As we reach the town of Shomare.
    • We gradually ascend above the tree line where the terrain becomes increasing sparse, barren and dotted with high altitude shrubbery.
    • The views of mountains are spectacular as we reach our overnight lodge at Dingboche, situated just beneath the impressive Ama Dablam.
    • Overnight stay at Dingboche in Lodge.
     

  8. Day 8 Acclimatization Day at Dingboche

     

    • This is a day to haul up and rest without being idle. Our acclimatizing gets a further boost with our hike to Nagartsang Peak [5,083m/16,625ft] and as we top it with gasping breath we soon realize the gritty climb was worth the go.
    • Doing this acclimatization helps in adapting with the high altitude, afterwards retrace back to Dingboche for a free afternoon to rest.
    • Excellent views of Nuptse, Lhotse, Chukung Peak and Imja Tse (6189m) are had from both in the valley or from the ridge above the Lodge. Massive glaciers drape beneath cliffs that soar up to 3,500 metres in this dramatic valley. 
    • Climb high and sleep low.
    • Overnight stay at Dingboche in Lodge.
       

  9. Day 9 Dingboche - Lobuche (4910m/16109ft) (6-7hrs)| Trail to Base Camp

     

    • Today we are gaining altitude and it is important that we move at a slow, steady pace.
    • The slopes are quite barren now as we move above the tree line. Views of different peaks, such as Cholatse and Lobuche, unfold before us in this contrasting and spectacular landscape. 
    • We move up the Dhugla Ridge and onto moraine towards the Khumbu Glacier. Rock cairns can be seen, many of which are dedicated to the memory of climbers attempting the high mountains of the area, including Everest. 
    • The temperatures drop here as we are more exposed amongst this glacial moraine. 
    • We enjoy spectacular views all day today of Pumori and Nuptse. The hill above the town affords fine sunset views of Nuptse. 
      Overnight stay at Lobuche in lodge.

  10. Day 10 Trek to E.B.C [5364m/17559ft] and retrace back to Gorekshep [5140m/16864ft] (7-8hrs)

     

    • Today we start early for the ultimate adventure.
    • We trek alongside the Khumbu Glacier as the path winds over the rocky moraine towards the settlement of Gorak Shep. We are high, among the glaciers of the world's highest peaks.
    • Following our arrival at Gorak Shep we have an early lunch (on direct payment) before we commence our trek to Everest Base Camp.
     
      • From Everest Base Camp you will not get views of Mount Everest, but you are able to see glorious glaciers, caves, and the notorious Everest Ice Fall that flows from the Western Cwm. It's regarded as technically the hardest and most dangerous section of the mountain.
      • We return to Gorakshep for a restful night.
     
    • Overnight at Gorakshep in Lodge. 
     

  11. Day 11 Hiking to Kala Patthar (5545m/18193ft)- Descend to Pheriche (4371m/14340ft) (8-9hrs)

    • Today we witness some of the Himalayas most recognisable sights. We make an early start as the ascent is quite steep, so start very slowly and try to ascend at a steady rhythmic pace. Kala Patar (5545 m)  is the rocky hilltop below Pumori. It’s a tough walk because of the altitude, but the view from the top will surpass your wildest imagination.
    • Many of the famous ascent routes are quite clear. Below us the Khumbu Glacier snakes towards the icefall and Western Cwm. We can see the area where expeditions set their base camp but the original site was at Lake Camp, now known as Gorak Shep. Take a look in every direction and soak it in. 
    • We make the return trek and continue our journey of  the land of Himalayas and descend down to Pheriche for comfortable night sleep.
    • Overnight stay in lodge at Pheriche.

  12. Day 12 Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11286ft) (5-6hrs)

    • After having the breakfast (on d-payment) we will descend from Pheriche to the tourist hub Namche.
    • The trail drops down to Orso, Somare, and Pangboche tracing the west bank of Imja River.
    • Climb up to Debuche and Tengboche through dense forest and descend to Phunki Thenga for final climb to Sanasa.
    • Eventually, we take an easy trail and trace it to Namche.
    • One can visit the Coffee shops, restaurants and buy themselves a treat in the colourful or buy Souvenirs in Namche Bazaar.
    • Overnight at Lodge in Namche Bazaar.

  13. Day 13 Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2800m/9186ft) (5-6hrs)

    • Get up relaxed in the lap of mountains as we prepare for the last hike.
    • Trek from Namche, the trail takes steep descent route to Jorsaley national park border crossing a suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi River.
    • Enjoying the blissful scenery en-route, the trail retraces the path to Phakding and toward Lukla.
    • Celebrate the accomplishment of the adventurous trek at Lukla.
    • Overnight stay at lodge in Lukla.

QWho Can Go?
A. Here are the fitness criteria one has to match absolutely for conquering Goechala Trek with us:
  • Experience of any high-altitude trek, at least 1 trek.
  • The climber must be fit and have sufficient stamina to cover 5 km of distance in 30 minutes without a stress.
  • A goods carrying benchmark relevant in this expedition, the climber should be able to carry a 10 to 15 kg expedition bag pack.
  • Heart problem, high blood pressure, asthma, and epilepsy cannot be reconciled on this mission. The climber must not have these conditions mentioned above.
