Para - Gliding

Para-gliding is the latest aero sport to take the world by storm. The slopes of the Solang valley near Manali offer some of the most popular sites for para-gliding. Apart from this, Kamshet and Panchghani in Maharashtra offer great slopes for this sport.

Hang Gliding

A hang-glider is quite heavy (almost 55 kg in weight), bulky, and much complicated object. It takes around half of an hour to open the glider and almost the same time to pack it.
The technicalities are more complex than, say, a para-glider and the risks more.

PARASAILING

A parasail is a parachute attached to some moving transportation medium like a four-wheel drive or a motorboat. The parachute goes up in the air when the transport medium gets moving and the person attached with it takes three or four quick steps and then in the air. The sheer joy of soaring in the sky hundreds of feet above and not much need of training has made this game immensely popular internationally. Especially in India Parasailing is very popular among the lifestyle oriented families and adventure thrill seekers. Parasailing in Goa for instance has become a must for every tourist's itinerary, be it international traveller or domestic tourist. These days Parasailing is also a part of various Corporate Training Programmes, Stress Busting Weekend Programmes and Company Offsites in India.

Parasailing as an adventure sport is also very popular in Dehra Dun area. There have been a lot of Parasailing events at Jolly Grant Airport on Dehra Dun Rishikesh highway and in Dakpathar / Vikas Nagar area. The sport of Parasailing is also pursued in Goa, Trivandrum, Orissa, Haryana, the Northeastern states, especially Manipur, and many other places in India. According to studies, in addition to Goa, Parasailing has a lot of scope and potential in Uttranchal and Himachal Pradesh considering the ever increasing awareness of tourists plus development of a new breed of offbeat holiday lovers.
