MOUNTAIN BIKING & CYCLING

Not just being one of the most environment friendly mode of transportation, cycling has been long accepted as a great form of adventure travel. In 1924, a group of Parsi friends undertook a bicycling expedition from Bombay to London, across highly challenging terrain on an adventurous trip that created history. Today small groups of adventurous men and women ride their bicycles through all kind of terrain and weather. One of the great advantages of cycle travel is the one on one contact it allows with the local village folks and not to forget, with mother nature. You too can join this league of long distance cycling enthusiasts but training and planning is recommended. Start with cycling long distance in areas close to you to build stamina.

Make sure that you have a sturdy bicycle, a helmet, you are clear about the route (a map may be helpful) and basic knowledge of cycle repair. Though most of the towns and villages have cycle repair shops yet it is a good idea to have knowledge of your equipment. It is also not too difficult to check in your bicycle as luggage in a train or loaded on top of a bus, when you want to take it along with you on a trip.

There are two ways in which you can go for a cycling trip in the mountains. The first one being the more rigorous way, demanding more stamina, here you carry all the required equipment and supplies with you. The other way is where you just carry yourself on the bike and maybe a small backpack, the supplies and other equipment is carried is a support vehicle. The vehicle / van supported trips are easy even for first timers as in addition to carrying the supplies and equipment, it provides enough room for the tiered cyclists in the vehicle.

Mountain Biking :- Mountain biking is a pretty rigorous sport so you need to be an experienced cyclist or build up your stamina and train for long-distance biking. Though ordinary bikes are available in most towns and hill stations throughout India, 10 speed mountain bikes are also available for hire in some of the larger and more popular hill stations. Whether you head out on your own or arrange a trip through us, biking is a great way to explore the mountains. We offer a variety of routes and services, including an accompanying vehicle in case you're suddenly short on energy. From single day trips to two week long ones, cycle touring can be a great way to get up close and personal with the terrains and the people, more on this...
