Small pebbles loosen under your feet and dive over the ledge as you take your position on the last piece of flat ground you will feel for a long time. The view is spectacular, the day glorious and you feel the adrenaline rise in you like mercury in a thermometer. Then, in a split second you are over the side, a small figure jutting out from the rock face as you begin your descent. With thousands of kilometers of cliffs, dozens of caves, and several mountain ranges, our abseiling sites are a great place for those who prefer their ground to be vertical. Here you can rap jump, free fall and rope climb your way through some unforgettable experiences. Try an abseil through a narrow chasm that leads to a palm-fringed swimming hole. Climb sheer cliffs and abseil into a river or hook up to a flying fox and glide from one river side to the other. Go rappelling. Some amazing cliff faces can be found in various spots along the vast mounain range or rock cliffs, close to you. There are a lot of great abseiling sites close to New Delhi and Mumbai. You can find some of the best climbing cliffs close to Rishikesh, in the Uttranchal region. Kanheri Caves, in Mumbai provides rock climbers with the chance to hang out over the cliff and feel that they are at the edge of the earth. There are other great abseiling spots at about 1 ½ hr. drive from the city, on the Gujarat highway at a place called Uttawli. The sky touching cliffs make a great place for abseiling. Descend sheer rock faces / sloping ground by using rappelling ropes, sling, carabiners, mittens and a belay rope.
